Super engineering plastic Sumika ExcelTM PES for lightweighting motors.
Contributes to the lightweighting of motors through metal substitution. Production can be achieved in a short time through injection molding. No abnormalities observed in bench tests under high load conditions.
"Sumika Excel TM PES" is a super engineering plastic that can be utilized for resin applications such as motor cases, contributing to weight reduction and improved productivity. Since it can be injection molded, it achieves both reduced processing time and design flexibility. It features high strength and high elastic modulus, with minimal physical property changes up to 200°C, and can achieve high dimensional accuracy through injection molding. It maintains high dimensional stability even under severe temperature conditions. In demonstration tests, it has achieved approximately 30-40% weight reduction compared to aluminum components, and it has been confirmed that the temperature rise during one hour of continuous operation is comparable to that of aluminum. [Recommended for the following concerns] - Looking for materials that can achieve weight reduction for improved fuel efficiency (electric efficiency) in automobiles. - Wanting to enhance productivity in component processing. [Features] - Specific gravity is just over half that of aluminum. - Contributes to weight reduction of parts and materials through the resinification of motor covers and cases. - No abnormalities in bench tests under high load conditions. - Temperature rise of the motor is comparable to that of aluminum motor cases (under water cooling conditions). - Capable of addressing not only material selection but also proposing optimal shapes through analytical technology.
